College of Business Scholarships

Scholarships are for the 2008-2009 academic year. Most scholarships are designated for full-time (12 credit hours or more per term) business students at USF who meet all college admission requirements. There will be two (2) $500 scholarships for part-time students (less than 12 credit hours per term) who will be enrolled in at least two (2) business courses per semester during both the Fall 2008 AND Spring 2008 semesters at USF. Most scholarships are in the range of $500 to $2000 per year.

Filling out this on-line application will make you eligible for consideration to all general COB Undergraduate Scholarships. The School of Accountancy (SOA) and the Economics Department (ECN) have additional scholarship/grant opportunities for their majors which require an additional application. See below for how to apply.

School of Accountancy scholarships/excellence grants will be announced in upper-level accounting classes and the applications may be obtained in March from the School of Accountancy Office, BSN 3305. Only accounting majors who have successfully completed ACG 3103 (Intermediate Financial Accounting I) are eligible. For summer and fall 2008, the SOA Financial Assistance Application is due on Friday, April 4, 2008. Economics majors may pick up the separate application for the Burton Scholarship in the Economics Office, BSN 3432.

SOA, ECN, and COB will coordinate all scholarship awards; therefore, students will be awarded only one scholarship from either the SOA, ECN, or COB scholarship funds.

Eligibility Requirements

• Have at least a 3.4 USF GPA and a 3.4 OVERALL GPA. (Incoming Transfer Students & 1 st Term Freshmen must have at least a 3.4 Institutional GPA and 3.4 Overall GPA at previous schools.)
• Attend USF full-time (12 credit hours) during Fall 2008 and Spring 2009. (If you graduate earlier than expected or are not a full-time student due to work or other factors, you will not be eligible for the full scholarship amounts.)
• Be fully admitted to the College of Business by Fall 2008 (Consult the USF catalog for COB admission requirements at: http:www.ugs.usf.edu/catalogs.htm).
• Have earned at least 12 hours at USF as of December 31, 2007 (continuing students only).
• Award recipients must attend the Scholarship Award Luncheon on Friday, September 19, 2008. (Recipients who DO NOT attend the luncheon will be required to FORFEIT their scholarship award.)
• Scholarship award recipients will be notified no later than the 3rd week of May, 2008.
