It is a pleasure to welcome you to the University of South Florida's College of Business and share with you a few facts and thoughts about the College.

Businesses that hire College of Business graduates have new assurances that the graduates they hire are coming from a program that has met the highest professional standards as determined by our peers in business education.

There are 515 members of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International Accreditation Council (which includes all member institutions that have achieved AACSB accreditation). Only 150, or 29.1%, have achieved accreditation of their undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs. USF is among that select group. And, only 167 or 32.4% of the accredited members have achieved AACSB International accounting accreditation. We have also achieved that recognition.

So what does achieving this level of recognition really mean to our students, alumni, and the business community?  Quoting from AACSB, “AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools, worldwide. Institutions that earn accreditation confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education.

AACSB International accreditation assures stakeholders that business schools:

  • Manage resources to achieve a vibrant and relevant mission.
  • Advance business and management knowledge through faculty scholarship.
  • Provide high-caliber teaching of quality and current curricula.
  • Cultivate meaningful interaction between students and a qualified faculty.
  • Produce graduates who have achieved specified learning goals.”

The faculty and staff of the College are committed to excellence as expressed in the college's mission statement and vision and values.

We are proud to be part of a major doctoral/research-extensive university as classified by the Carnegie Foundation.  I hope you will take a few minutes to browse through the College of Business website and learn more about the College, its programs and centers, faculty, and student organizations.  I think you will find the College to be an exciting and vibrant place.
