Greetings from the College of Business!
I often see large groups of students and
parents touring the campus for USF's
orientation sessions. They have
anticipation, excitement, and a hint of
nervousness written on their faces.
We're experiencing many of these
feelings as we launch several new
programs this fall, a few of which are
spotlighted in this newsletter. We are
eager to see them come to life and are a
bit nervous until the last seat (or bed,
as in the case of the Bulls Business
Community) is taken.

Board Approves MS in Marketing Degree |
| |
The USF Board of Trustees recently
approved a new MS in Marketing degree,
designed for individuals desiring a
specialized graduate degree instead of a
more broad-based program such as the
MBA. Applications are now being accepted
for this new program, which was approved
in June and will boast its first
students this fall.

September Course Open to Business
Executives Wanting To Improve Efficiency
And "Go Lean" |
| |
Managers
eager to improve efficiency and
eliminate waste from business systems
can learn the benefits of "Lean"
management thanks to a new partnership
between USF and MIT through a special
course open to the public in September.
Targeted at mid-level supervisors and
managers focused on quality and systems,
the week-long course will be held at the
College of Business in Tampa, September
24 - 28.

Every room has been claimed in the
inaugural Bulls Business Community, one
of the College of Business' newest
initiatives for incoming freshmen
declaring a business major. Nearly
thirty students will live in the
College's living-learning center where
business majors can begin developing as
professionals from their first moments
on campus.
