Greetings from the College of Business Administration!
I am excited to begin a new journey with the College of
Business Administration as your newly appointed Dean. As
I went through the interview process, I became
increasingly intrigued with the quality of the school’s
faculty and its programs, the strategic vision of the
university’s leadership and the strong support of the
Tampa Bay business community. These factors, coupled
with the tremendous growth in the Tampa Bay region as
well as the state of Florida, provided a strong
incentive to come to USF.
In the thirty days that I have been here, I have begun
to meet with our alumni and corporate partners. These
communities are important in ensuring our long-term
success, and I will constantly be reaching out to them
so that they can be better engaged with our students and
faculty. I look forward to building strong relationships
with these important constituencies.
In this edition of The Executive, you will find
how the College is expanding its reach. The College is
expanding its programs and opening a Master of Finance
program beginning this fall. As part of our effort to
expand our international emphasis, the College hosted
MBA students from Thailand’s Ramkhamhaeng University for
a one-day seminar on the Tampa campus. We are also proud
to be highlighting sustainability and the effect of
business on the environment.
I am extremely pleased to see USF’s progress in becoming
one of the nation’s premier academic research
institutions. As you’ll see in the Focus on Faculty
section, our College’s faculty members are not only
actively participating in this activity, they are
striving to earn national and international distinction
for their research excellence.
Our College of Business Administration is on the path to
achieve great success, and I am proud to be a part of
its mission.

Dean Anderson is actually celebrating two retirements;
one from the College of Business and one from retirement
parties,” joked Tampa Chamber of Commerce Chair and
University of South Florida alumnus Jose Valiente at one
of the several receptions honoring retiring Dean Robert
Anderson. “I don’t need to go to the grocery; I’ll just
go to a Bob Anderson party,” agreed USF President Judy
