Greetings from the College of Business
Administration!
I have enjoyed my first few months as Dean here
at USF. One of my favorite activities is working
with our faculty, alumni, and community partners
to launch strategic initiatives for our
students.
One such initiative is our Bulls Business
Community. This new “living-learning” center
will help us provide programming for incoming
freshmen who choose to live together in our
residence hall. We are recruiting students now
for the 32 openings and will soon be seeking
alumni and friends to help us bring the “real
world” to the dorm in short, targeted networking
sessions. Be sure to read about it in the
“Business of Living and Learning” article.
A second initiative is our partnership with
MIT’s Lean Aerospace Initiative. Our initial
“Lean” management course for MBA students, to be
held over spring break, filled within days of
opening. You’ll find details on the MIT LAI
partnership inside this newsletter.
We welcome your involvement as we launch these
and other new initiatives.

The Business of Living and Learning

This fall, the College will host its inaugural
resident group as we launch the Bulls Business
Community. A new twist in residence life, the
Bulls Business Community will be home for 32
first-year students in Maple Hall, one of USF’s
newest suite-style dormitories. “Students chosen
for this program will enjoy all the benefits of
a traditional on-campus lifestyle, “said Dean
Forsythe, “plus a few extra perks."
