What is the Office of Employer Relations?

The College of Business's Office of Employer Relations facilitates career-related connections among USF business students and employers. Our primary goal is to assist business students with their internship and full-time job search. We work with the USF Career Center to provide students with the tools needed to succeed in a self-directed job search. Our services include career-related events, listservs and other electronic communication tools, job coaching assistance and additional expertise in graduate business career preparation.

What's the difference between the Office of Employer Relations and the USF Career Center?

The Career Center is the comprehensive, full service department that assists all USF students with their job search. They provide job postings, career fairs, on-campus interviews, one-on-one career advising for undergraduate business students, and other services to help students with their job search.

The Office of Employer Relations in the College of Business providesadditional services for business students. Our services include additional career events such as company information sessions and workshops, and an email listserv to keep students up-to-date on job search trends and advice. We also coordinate the College’s internship programs and collect all employment related outcomes assessment for the College.

We are the only office on campus that specializes in MBA career services. Megan Hendricks provides one-on-one career planning and job search assistance specifically targeted toward an MBA job search.

Will I still be able to use on-campus career services once I graduate?

USF alumni can use the Career Center’s services for up to six months after graduation, and then an alumni fee will be implemented. College of Business alumni can also use the Office of Employer Relations services for no cost at all times.

How can I get an internship?

There are several internship programs available for College of Business students; some offer academic credit, while others are non-credit learning experiences.

What is an information session?
Information Sessions are opportunities for you to meet companies that are currently hiring USF business students for internship and full-time positions. Companies typically bring several recruiters as well as USF alumni, so it's a great chance to meet with them one-on-one and learn about their culture.
