TIAA-CREF: Research Grants
Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association - College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) is one of the largest most respected financial service providers in the world. The TIAA-CREF Institute serves as a bridge between the business of TIAA-CREF and the business of higher education. The Institute:
Generates research and information on
financial security and higher education issues
Disseminates knowledge through
reports, conferences, web casts, and other forums
Facilitates interactions between
college and university leadership, higher education thought leaders
and influencers, and TIAA-CREF management
These efforts help our higher education
partners to more effectively address the challenges they face and our
business partners within TIAA-CREF to better serve clients' needs.
Through grants and partnerships, we underscore the importance of
rigorous and sophisticated research and the value of collaborating with
others in the pursuit of knowledge to reach shared goals.
The TIAA-CREF Institute Research Grant Program was established to
encourage scholars to pursue research in areas of interest to TIAA-CREF,
such as retirement income security issues and strategic issues in higher
education.
Included in this section are summaries of completed grants and grants in
progress. Research findings from many grant projects have been published
in journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance,
the Journal of Economic Theory, and the Journal of Financial Services
Research.
Researchers who are interested in applying for a grant are strongly
advised to submit a brief letter of inquiry to determine whether the
Institute's present interests and budget allow consideration of the
request. The letter should be submitted to Jennifer Ma via email at jma@tiaa-cref.org.
The letter should include the following four items :
A short description of the project,
Estimated overall budget,
Period of time for which funds are
requested, and
Names of researchers who will be conducting the research.
The Institute will respond to the inquiry
and may ask the grant seeker to submit a formal proposal.
