NBMBAA: 2007 NBMBAA® PhD Fellowship Program
Sponsor: The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA)
Two fellowships are awarded each year, to qualified minority students enrolling in a full-time doctoral business or management program or related discipline in the U.S.
Applicants must:
Be minority students enrolled in a full-time business, management, or related discipline doctoral program during the fall of 2006 or the spring of 2007. The doctoral program must be accredited by the AACSB: The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business www.aacsb.edu/.
Submit a competitive research paper on the following topic: What is one of the major questions in your field that needs to be addressed? What unique perspective can black scholars provide to this discussion?
Mail official stamped transcripts from all graduate institutions listed.

Research papers will be evaluated by the following criteria:
-Are the core ideas original? Important? Provocative? Is the discussion of the relevant literature complete and accurate? Are the ideas presented concisely and logically?
-Does the paper advance our understanding of the topic? Is the contribution clear and important?
-Is the paper conceptually adequate and rigorous? Is it technically adequate? Are the method(s) and analyses appropriate?
-Is the paper well written and clearly presented?
Fellowship Recipients must:
-agree to become lifetime members (membership fees are deducted from the scholarship award)
-submit a high-resolution digital photograph to be used for public relations purposes
-submit a current curriculum vita or a resume, if a vita is not available
-travel to Orlando, FL, September 13-16, 2007 for the 29th Annual Conference & Exposition
-participate in limited public relations activities at the NBMBAA® Annual Conference and throughout the year
-attend the scholarship brunch, and the awards program on September 15, 2007 in Orlando, FL
-volunteer on Thursday, September 13th, or Friday, September 14th during the NBMBAA® Annual Conference in Orlando, FL for a minimum of 4 hours.
-become an active member in your local chapter
-agree to become a member of the NBMBAA® Scholarship Advisory Team & Scholarship Alumni Club
