IMA: Doctoral Student Grant Program in Management Accounting
Sponsor: Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA®) Foundation for Applied Research (FAR) is pleased to announce a new research grant program for doctoral students in management accounting. The IMA FAR Doctoral Student Grant Program is designed to assist accounting doctoral students who are pursuing research that has the potential to contribute to the management accounting profession. Research conducted in connection with a dissertation or other project related to their doctoral studies is eligible for funding.
Many of the research projects funded by FAR support IMA’s Research Center of Excellence (CoE). The CoE is currently focusing on providing actionable research in five practice areas.
Research in these areas will enable management accounting and finance professionals to be more successful business partners in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. These areas include:
• Leadership Strategies and Ethics
• Technology Enablement
• Strategic Cost Management
• Business Performance Management
• Enterprise Risk and Controls
The FAR Board of Trustees and Directors place an emphasis on funding research that contributes to the five areas listed above but, submissions of research proposals that affect any area of the management accounting profession are invited and strongly encouraged.
Deadline: Our goal is to provide responses to research proposals within approximately 90 business days of receipt. During the 7/1/06–6/30/07 funding cycle, the grant submission process is open, and grants are accepted all year.
