Application Procedures
Application Process
Although you need time to make an informed decision about the
Executive MBA Program, we encourage you to move ahead with the application
process as soon as possible. EMBA classes are limited in size,
and applications are reviewed throughout the year.
Sponsorship and Recommendation
The EMBA Program is a commitment, both for candidates and for
their organizations. We require, therefore, that you secure a letter
of approval from your organization. Many students are able to receive
tuition support from their employer. We understand concerns you may
have about the possibility of seeking company approval then being denied
admission. Hence, the EMBA staff will work closely with you to determine
the likelihood of your admission prior to seeking approval. Then, we
will support your efforts to gain approval in whatever way will be most
effective.
Graduate Admission Test
We may require that a Graduate Admission Test be taken. While
the graduate test is only one of several measures of your potential
management success in the program, performance on the quantitative section
of the test is particularly important for those who may not regularly
use quantitative skills and for those who struggled with quantitative
courses during undergraduate education. For this reason, we strongly
recommend preparation through any of the preparatory courses, study
guides, or computer packages available. The Graduate Management Admission
Test (GMAT) is administered through Pearson Professional Centers. To schedule the test, go to www.mba.com. This website also contains FREE PowerPrep test preparation software. GMAT FAQ's

Tuition Assistance
We recommend students begin their research for tuition assistance through their employer prior to applying for federal tuition assistance. Providing educational benefits and reimbursements to employees is one way organizations are helping support the continuing education of their employees. If your company does not offer financial assistance we recommend applying for a federal or business education loan.
Subsidized Stafford Loans
These federal loans are awarded based on financial need with the maximum for graduate students being $8,500 per year. There is no interest or repayment as long as the student is enrolled in classes at least half-time. Repayment of principal and interest begins six months after the student ceases at least half-time enrollment.
Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
These federal loans are awarded without regard to financial need and can range up to $18,500 per year. The actual amount cannot exceed the estimated cost of attendance less other aid, including any Subsidized Stafford Loans. Interest does accrue on these loans while in school but repayment of principal begins six months after the student ceases at least half-time attendance. To be eligible for an Unsubsidized Loan you must first apply for a Federal Subsidized Loan.
You apply for Federal Subsidized and Federal Unsubsidized Loans by filling out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) . Based on the information you provide on the FAFSA, the USF Office of Financial Aid will determine the type and amount of financial aid you are eligible to receive.
Business Education Loan
If you've reached your loan limit for the Federal Stafford Loan, but still need money for school, or if you aren't eligible for federal funding, you may consider a private Business Education Loan.
Students in Executive MBA Programs are eligible to receive financial assistance through the MBA LOANS Program . With MBA LOANS you can finance the entire cost of your graduate business education by combining a Federal Stafford Loan with the private Business Education Loan . This program is sponsored by the Graduate Management Admissions Council. Additional information on this loan program is available at the following toll-free number: (888) 440-4MBA. |
