Victoria Griffis Panzer
Instructor & Internship Coordinator

Prior to her affiliation with USF, Ms. Panzer spent 14 years in sales and marketing with companies in the service sector.

She began in career in retail merchandising with J.C. Penney Company.   She joined Knight-Ridder Newspapers as an advertising sales manager. While there, she was instrumental in the creation and development of their new product offering, "The Island Herald." Ms. Panzer then accepted the key position in marketing and public relations for a management company with diverse holdings. The properties included an offshore reinsurance firm, the largest worker's compensation self-insurers fund in the state of Florida (FCCI), an international travel agency, several real estate projects, and a theatre company.

Her consulting experience includes companies in the tourism, health and fitness, theatrical arts, and recreation industries in the areas of focus group research, video editing and small business advertising strategy and design.

Ms. Panzer has been at the University of South Florida since 1989. She holds an M.B.A. and a Bachelor's degree from USF. She currently teaches courses in professional selling. During the fall semester, USF hosts the General Motors Marketing Internship program (GMMI).  Ms. Panzer is the instructor for the program and USF students consistently produce some of the best results nationally.  She also coordinates the undergraduate internship program, Marketing Practicum, which she helped institute in the fall 1995. Ms. Panzer developed the curriculum, counsels practicum students, and maintains contact with more than 50 area businesses who hire USF students.

Ms. Panzer was recognized for outstanding teaching with the Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for the College of Business in 2006, 2003 and 1997 and the Kahn Memorial Award in 2006, 2003 and 1991.  In 1996, she was selected from a nationwide pool as one of only 25 "visiting" professors by the Advertising Education Federation. Ms. Panzer visited BBDO South in Atlanta and consulted on the Maxfli, Georgia Pacific, and Wachovia Bank accounts.

Since 1996 Ms. Panzer has been the faculty advisor to the USF AMA Collegiate Chapter. One of the largest business organizations on campus, it has been awarded outstanding recognition since 2002. She has previously served on the AMA Collegiate Council and is Co-Chair of the 2007 AMA Annual International Collegiate conference.
