Barbara Lafferty
Associate Professor
Barbara A. Lafferty is Associate Professor of Marketing
at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She received her Ph.D.
in Business Administration from Florida State University with a major
in Marketing and a minor in Cognitive Psychology. She also holds
a Master of Science degree in Advertising from the University of
Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Theory from
the Ohio State University. Dr. Lafferty's industry experience includes
eighteen years in a variety of positions in marketing and communications
such as corporate communications writer for General Motors Corporation,
advertising and public relations copywriter for Flournoy and Gibbs,
Inc., sales executive for Reams Broadcasting Corporation and Susquehanna
Broadcasting, and franchise owner as well as Vice President/Regional
Director for Decorating Den Systems, Inc.
Dr. Lafferty is a member of the American Marketing
Association, the Association for Consumer Research, Society for Consumer
Psychology, and the Society for Marketing Advances. She is a member
of Beta Gamma Sigma and serves as Book Review Editor for the Journal
of Product and Brand Management.
