Steven A. Baumgarten
Professor

Dr. Baumgarten is the Director of MBA Programs at the USF College of Business Administration. He joined USF in 1976, having held previous academic appointments at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Purdue University.  He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Administration from Purdue University.

In his capacity as professor of marketing, he has conducted and published research on such diverse topics as diffusion of fashion innovations, consumer shopping behavior, the public image of the firm, strategic marketing management for the industrial firm, the administration of health care facilities for the elderly, physician practice marketing, the effectiveness of advertising, and doing business with China and with Latin America.

Dr. Baumgarten teaches the International Business class in the Executive MBA Program, and has also planned and led more than twenty business study tours to various destinations in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Australia.  He has also been a guest lecturer at universities in China and France. 

He is a frequent speaker at professional, industrial and trade association meetings, and has been a consultant to a wide range of organizations.
