Aarti Sharma Aarti Sharma teaches the exit and capstone course on Strategic Management. She also engages in research on strategies, policies and organizational behavior for sustainability. She has earned her Ph.D. (2008) in Management (with a sustainability policy emphasis) from the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. In addition, she holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Research (2003) from the University of Waikato, New Zealand; a Diploma in Management (2001), a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (2001), a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (2002), and a Master of Business Administration (specializing in Human Resource Management, 2002) from the Indira Gandhi National Open University, India; a Master of Chemistry (specializing in Organic Chemistry, 1997) and a Bachelor of Chemistry (Honors, 1995) from the University of Delhi, India. She teaches strategic management with a sustainability focus. In her teaching, she integrates theories on strategic management with triple bottom line principles of sustainability. She also draws on theories on international business and base-of-the-pyramid strategies, corporate environmental strategies and corporate social responsibility. In addition, she exposes her students to the climate change issue, and helps them understand the strategic implications of climate change policies on corporations and the global economy. Fascinated by human and inter-organizational dynamics of dialogue and collaboration for sustainability, in her research, she attempts to deeply investigate such relationships, and unmask the potentials, complexities and paradoxes involved that may promote or hinder sustainability. She likes to engage in multi-paradigmatic thinking that spans across organization and strategic management theories, and social philosophies. Aarti is also actively serving the Academy of Management. She is a member of the Organization and Natural Environment (ONE) Governing Board. She serves as the Chair of ONE Publications Team. She has also worked as the 2005 Assistant Program Chair for ONE. |
