POSITION Programmer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
·
Translates Program Design Specifications into efficient workable code.
·
Analyzes existing programs, data, reports, and documentation to design
program changes for routine maintenance/enhancements.
·
Applies system utilities and applications development tools to assigned
projects.
·
Develops accurate effort and time estimates for programming enhancements.
·
Performs and prepares test plans and test data for simple to moderately
complex programs used in the Unit and System testing of projects.
·
Prepares and maintains user and system documentation.
·
Analyzes and recommends changes to programs as part of code and design
walkthrough.
·
Facilitates post implementation reviews and makes changes as necessary to
ensure systems meet client expectations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
·
BA/BS degree in MIS/Computer Science or related field of study or
2 years programming experience
·
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
·
Ability to travel
·
Ability to be on call 24 hours per day/7 days per week on a rotational
basis
POSITION PREFERENCES:
·
Experience in one of the following application languages: COBOL,
Assembler, JAVA, .NET, or relational databases.
·
Experience in one of the following methodologies: structured analysis and
design, prototyping, rapid application development or object-oriented analysis
and design
·
Knowledge of the magazine fulfillment business.
·
Experience developing, maintaining and supporting TCS applications.
