Jianping Qi
Bank of America Professor and Professor

Jianping Qi earned his Ph.D. (1993) and an MSBA (1989) from Washington University in St. Louis. He also earned an MBA (1987) from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and a BS (1983) from Tsinghua University, China. Jianping has been a finance professor at the USF since 1993 and has been a holder of the Bank of America Professorship since 2000. He was also a visiting finance professor (1992 and 1997) at Washington University in St. Louis. Jianping teaches courses at all levels, covering corporate finance, financial options and futures, and advanced finance theory.

Jianping’s research focuses on financial intermediation and corporate finance theory. He has published articles in very high quality journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Business, the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, and Management Science. Jianping won the College’s Outstanding Research Award in 1997 and 2004. He serves as referees for numerous top finance or economics journals and is a member of the editorial board of Investment Management and Financial Innovations.
