The Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Economics
through the College of Business Administration
The College of Business Administration is a limited access college, which means that it has admission requirements in addition to those of the University in general.

Students interested in majoring in economics through the College of Business Administration should contact the Business Advising Office in BSN 2102 for more information about the program. There is also an Economics Advisor located in the Economics Department, BSN 3432 who can answer questions about economics courses.

Major Requirements

The business core requirements include several economics courses which must be taken by all business majors:
QMB 2100 Business & Economic Statistics I

QMB 3200 Business & Economic Statistics II

ECO 2013 Economic Principles: Macroeconomics

ECO 2023 Economic Principles: Microeconomics

Economics majors complete a minimum of 21 hours of upper-level economics beyond the business core requirements. Within these 21 hours, students must take:
ECO 3101 Intermediate Price Theory
and

ECO 3203 Intermediate Macroeconomics

Students must obtain a grade of "C" or higher in ECO 3101. This grade must be earned before enrolling in any course for which ECO 3101 is a prerequisite.

ECO 3100 Managerial Economics may be substituted for ECO 3101.

No more than three hours credit can be applied toward a major from ECO 4905 and/or ECO 4914 (Independent Study and Independent Research).

At least 12 hours must be taken in residence at USF.
