Course Description

Managerial economics applies microeconomic theory to business decision making.  This course covers the economic foundations for making a variety of business decisions.

Required Textbooks and Software:

Maurice, S. Charles and Christopher R. Thomas, Managerial Economics, McGraw-Hill, 7th edition, 2002.

Thomas, C. R., Student Workbook for Use with Managerial Economics, 7th edition, 2002.

Grades

Grades in the course will be determined by three written exams, each of which counts 30 percent of the course grade.  Exams are a combination of fill-in-the-blank questions, short-answer questions, and analytical problems.  In addition to exams, homework counts for 10 percent of the course grade.  The three in-class exams are scheduled as follows:

                        EXAM 1           Wednesday, January 21

                        EXAM 2           Monday, February 9

                        EXAM 3           Wednesday, February 25

If you miss an exam for valid medical reasons, then you will take a comprehensive final exam that counts double.  If you miss both EXAM1 and EXAM2, you must retake the course.
