Welcome to the Economics Department!

This site is targeted at new transfer students to USF who have finished reviewing the College of Arts and Sciences on-line Policies & Registration information and declared a major in Economics. You will be given a registration appointment time within 48 hours of completing the declaration of major -- and you want to register as soon as that appointment time rolls around. Some classes close quickly and the earlier you register, the better your choice of classes and times.

My office hours and contact information are posted on my home page. You are welcome to stop by or call during those hours without an appointment. If my office hours aren't convenient, or during those times when I don't have regularly scheduled hours, the best way to contact me is via e-mail. (sbartlet@coba.usf.edu)

Our most immediate task is to identify courses you can take this semester. All economics majors must take three lower level classes: ECO 2013 and ECO 2023, Principles of Macro and Micro Economics, and an introductory statistics course (QMB 2100 Economics and Business Statistics or STA 2023 Introductory Statistics.) If you haven't taken those already, take them now. Here is a link to the TAPS (Tracking the Academic Progress of Students) website. If you select "Economics - Arts and Sciences (ECO)", you can see a typical 4-year program for economics majors in the College of Arts and Sciences. It may help you identify other classes you can take this semster.

If you don't meet with me before registering, stop by my office three or four weeks into the semester so that we can review your records and determine what requirements you've already met and what you need to complete in order to graduate. I look forward to working with you as your academic advisor.
