The doctoral program of study offered through the School of Accountancy at the University of South Florida develops and prepares individuals for academic careers in accounting.
The primary market for graduates of the doctoral program is universities with strong accounting programs and an appreciation for research. The doctoral program is a cohesive program that, because of its small size, offers students the opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty mentors. |

| Goals of the Program |
In line with the mission of the School of Accountancy, the overall program goals for the doctoral program are:
• Mastery of one or more specialized areas of accounting, such as accounting information systems, auditing, or financial accounting.
• Development of requisite skills to engage in respected applied, practical and scholarly research.
• Development of effective teaching skills.
